Melanie will start April , 2025 at the end of the Burr Trail where she ended the 2023 HDT hike due to injury.
There are several places Yeti can meet Melanie where the trail crosses highways & roads to give Melanie water, food, etc. Also, where necessary, take Melanie to town for rest, re-supply, etc.
At the end of each day of posting on Garmin Mapshare page, Melanie will try to send a message that she is in camp & safe.
Click on the 'Follow Yeti & Melanie', etc Icon and it will 'FLY' to Melanie's current location and zoom in there. The two hiker icon will be at that location with the latest co-ordinates and the current message written more often by Yeti or Melanie if she has time and is with Yeti so she has an internet connection.
When scrolling around, if you click on any of the waypoints or tracks the comments will open to give you any information that is in the waypoint or track. Tracks are harder to select but will tell you what that section is if red. Blue tracks are alternates. On the Mapshare page Alternates are Magenta due to Garmin tracks being Blue.
