Hayduke Trail Adventure 2021

March 23 – April 22, 2021/Sojourn on the Hayduke

After a year’s delay due to Covid Pandemic, Yeti, Mike (my hiking partner) and I began our Hayduke journey in Moab, Utah. Starting in Arches National Park, we would travel approximately 830+ miles through national parks and national monuments in Utah and Arizona making our way to the end destination in Zion National Park.

The Hayduke is a hiker-made up route and not an official trail. You can learn more about it at www.hayduketrail.com.

Sadly, my trek ended after about 200+ miles without completing the trail due to a foot/knee injury, which bounced me off the trail. Originally, I had hoped to heal and get back on the trail. This injury proved to be a bit more serious than I thought, however, and the healing process took too long for me to realistically finish this year. It was hugely disappointing for me and our team, but I will be back to finish. Next year, Yeti and I have another long trek on the agenda, so it may be 2023 before I finish this dream hike.
