Office Flooring

Week of July 15th

Chris and Zack started on the floors today in the kitchen and living room. I chose a Coretec Premium LVP, Irene Walnut is the color. It is supposed to be waterproof, one of the reasons we chose an LVP instead of hardwood. Cost and ease of care were other big considerations. We love the way the floor looks and the color. It looks terrific with the sage green walls.

Yeti had one sleepless night worrying about doing quarter-rounds instead of removing all the baseboards etc. We went over to the house and Yeti was pointing out all of the possible problems. When Chris arrived, he was able to allay Yeti’s fears and we are going with the quarter-round as planned. Yeti slept better the next night!

Originally, we all thought white would work best with the quarter-round and not the stuff Allan at Monteriors had suggested. But, when we laid it out on the floor again the baseboard, the Coretec product looked way better – it seemed to be part of the floor. So, we had to order it from Allan. It should arrive by August 6.

Meanwhile, the cabinets had arrived at Monteriors and will be delivered to the house on Friday, the 19th. That means Chris and Zack will move from doing the floors to doing cabinets to be ready for the template guys on the 26th. Zack came in on Saturday and did more flooring – the office is now done and hallway and part of the back room. They’ll have to finish the floors after the cabinets are done. And, the final finish will be the quarter-round.

As we are learning, the guys bounce from one thing to another as stuff comes in and priorities change. Gotta be flexible.
