Tue Sep 8 Our destination today is Malga Pramper, a working farm. After another filling breakfast, we hiked down a road for a couple of miles to regain the trail. The hike today involved equal ascent (1500 feet) and descent (1630 feet). The climb was mostly through a forested area and wasn’t too bad, it was fairly gradual so wasn’t too bad. At the top, we came across a piped spring, where you could get water. More dramatic rocky crags on our walk. Just before we did the steep down to the farm, we stopped for a rest on a lovely flat spot where we could see the valley walk and also the steep up which would have been our original route for the final day. It was a steep descent and we were happy to get to the charming Malga Pramper. It’s a working farm and they make their own cheeses. I enjoyed watching the chickens and the pushy rooster. We had a great piece of cake with fresh berries – yummy. We ended up having a private room here too – so that makes 6 of the 8 nights. The dinner was great. Great Shower too which was in the bunk room. This bunk room was much bigger than past one, so not as cramped. Dinner was terrific – with homemade pasta. Thunderstorms during the night!
